Concussion doctors and therapists work together to highlight all aspects of your persistent concussion symptoms. They also work with you in ensuring that you are performing many evidence-based treatments (like the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation Guidelines) that are correlated with positive outcomes post-concussion. Most post-concussion impairments are best managed by retraining neurological processes most of us learned in childhood. Our team works collaboratively to help you rewire your nervous system so that you recover from persistent concussion symptoms at the most fundamental level. Our concussion doctors & therapists also work with you in coordinating your care with other providers so that you can recover most effectively and safely.
We have several different types of medical doctors specializing in concussion care: Emergency doctor, Sports doctor, Family doctor and Internal Medicine specialist. These services are funded by OHIP.
We also have several different types of allied healthcare providers that also specialize in concussion care: Occupational therapist, physiotherapist, chiropractor, psychotherapist and nurse. The services are not funded by OHIP. However, they often are funded by your extended health benefits or car accident insurance (if relevant).
Our administration team try their best to help make the process smooth and easy for you so that you can focus on concussion rehabilitation. Among our administrative staff we have a dedicated MVA Case Manager to help you in managing medically related aspects of your car accident claim.
