What is Resilience Training?
This is a broad area of training that has promising results in concussion rehabilitation.
Resilience is associated with better outcomes post-concussion (Reid et al., 2018).
Resilience training honours the biopsychosocial factors of health and success.
It trains one to develop:
- an behavioural therapy
- an adaptive internal locus of control
- assertiveness
- goal-oriented methods
- self-awareness
- stress management and relaxation skills
- flexible optimism
- cognitive skills for self-efficacy
- cognitive flexibility
- acceptance and gratitude
- mindfulness
- attentional control
- harnessing one’s strengths and resources
We offer individual psychotherapy and group counselling sessions to teach patients these skills.
